Runner-up finish in Turkey Bowl XVII at Springfield Raceway

Coming off a Stock Car victory in the Duel in the Desert finale, Dylan Thornton returned to action on Friday night at Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Mo.) aboard his Salty’s BBQ & Catering No. 38T Modified for the two-day Turkey Bowl XVII Larry Phillips Memorial.

With preliminary results from a pair of heat races on Friday setting the stage for Saturday’s finale, Thornton followed up a seventh-to-first charge in his first round with a fifth-place finish in his second heat.

Relegated into a consolation race on Saturday, Dylan raced into the $3,000-to-win Turkey Bowl XVII Larry Phillips Memorial A-Main with a flag-to-flag victory.

Charging from the fifth row, Thornton passed eight cars in the 50-lap affair to register a second-place finish. He followed Tom Berry Jr. across the line with Terry Phillips, Ken Schrader, and Shawn Knuckles rounding out the Top-5.
